Havasu Still Wild is a tribute to the 1980s, a time when I spent many unforgettable moments at Lake Havasu and the Colorado River. Those were wild days, filled with crazy adventures and memories that will last a lifetime.

Fast forward to Memorial weekend of the year 2023—a spontaneous decision led me to rent a pontoon boat and whisk my family away to the iconic London Bridge at Lake Havasu. The experience was nothing short of surreal; it felt as though I had been transported back to the vibrant energy of the 80s. The lake was teeming with people, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement—a stark contrast to the hate and divisiveness that seems so prevalent in today's world.

Navigating the bustling waterways amidst a sea of boats and jet skis was an adventure in itself. The air was alive with an eclectic mix of music—from rap to heavy metal to Spanish melodies—and everywhere I looked, people were immersed in joyous revelry, waving and cheering as we passed by.

However, it wasn't until we disembarked and strolled along the boardwalk that inspiration struck. Before us stood a larger-than-life character, decked out in nothing but thick gold chains, flip flops, and a vibrant red G-string—a sight so unique, it begged to be captured. Turning to my wife, I exclaimed, “This is it! This is a story waiting to be told—a visual journey that encapsulates the essence of Lake Havasu in all its glory.”

With her enthusiastic agreement, I set out to create a photojournalistic coffee table book(which is in the works) that would showcase the beauty and vibrancy of Lake Havasu. From the friendly faces on their boats to the accommodating waitstaff at local restaurants and even the police officers patrolling the boardwalk, every encounter served as a testament to the warmth and hospitality of this special place.
